Sam- Chibi-tori

Postby Rhodie on Tue May 05, 2009 1:51 pm

Sam called last night with bad bird news. He and Emi, because of questions concerning his health, have made a very hard choice. All birds are up for adoption.

I will be taking Smokey, Cappy and Shelly (Age), Pixie and Bracket (special needs) and Suzie (my namesake). Patches and 2 of Pixie's and Smokey's have been placed.

A rough list of the remaining is-- 1st clutch- Chirp and LilBit- both males, 2nd clutch- JJ , Bandy, Daisy, Cuddles. Missy and Gizmo (whistler)--- 3 chicks, (Pixie and Smokey)--- 6-8 chicks. There maybe another 5-6 chicks around,

I will be driving to Sam's in early June. On my drive home I might be able to deliver to anyone along the East Coast or meet along the way. Anyone is welcomed to make arrangements to have a bird or birds flown.

Seems like it has been forever that I have known Emi and Sam and a lot of you, but, the 1st clutch just turned 2 at the start of April. Remember all the late hours we had on cam? Oh, and the Sunday Brunch.....

Fingers crossed we can get the babes re-homed soon, with your help...... If you are on other forums with people in the Georgia area please ask them for help.

Sam will be posting as soon as he can get the computer up....

Smiles,

Sue (Rhodie)

There has been a change. Emi and Sam WILL be keeping Smokey, Pixie, Gizmo and an unknown female!!!!

I will be taking Suzie, Bracket, Daisy, Cappy, Shelly (if she doesn't stay with Gizmo) and Missy.

I will be transporting 2 babies to Worcester, Mass to their new home. Have more room in the van, a second driver and a TOM-TOM...... Please keep passing the information around. I will be in Georgia the second week of June.

Sam has not posted current pictures but here is a link for some of the babies---

Thanks for all and any help.

Sam has not been able to get the computer up....

BostonBudgie, the answer is, I don't know if there is a 'pied' as some of the chicks have not feathered out. I don't know what 'flavors' are possible. If Mfids or Christie are around, maybe, they could give us an idea, please???

We will be bringing the 3 pearl babies up North with us (thanks Auntie Kim). They are going to a lady not far from the 2 going to Worcester, MA.

Emi has some promised in the neighborhood but I would think there are still around 10 that need new homes. They start at 25 months down to ....young.

Thanks for any and all help.

Smiles.

I'll be glad to help, but I doubt there will be a pied in the group unless one bird is carrying a hidden pied gene. Let me know the genetic mutation of the parents and I'll run the calculator. We do know that Smokey has a lutino gene he carries.

Missy is a pied and a very light pied at that.... she's a cinnamon pied. Some chicks may be split pied, but as far as I know, none are visual pieds.

I am so happy that my friend Lin will be taking three of the babies! With all the birds she has had and fostered, I know tiels have always been one of her favorites. She's a good bird mom! Sue please let me know the day you'll be arriving in Mass. and if you'll want or need any help with transportation.....It's only a couple hours out that way for me, and I don't mind driving out there seeing as you'll be driving so far already! Lin may be able to drive out to meet you too so you won't have to drive as far. I know she's come out my way before up to Vermont to get some rescue birds.

Thanks Christie and Monica. Guess we are leaving it at no pieds. I tried to get onto Sam's server to get single pictures of Smokey, Missy, Gizmo and Pixie but it is still down.

Kim, I would love to have you meet up with us. I will contact you before I leave Georgia.

The number of chicks who need placement is being nibbled at, slowly. Two have been spoken for today and will stay near Atlanta.

Thanks again for all the help. Please keep asking around.

Hope you all enjoyed (FID's) Mother's Day.

Smiles,

Hi Sue, please send my regards to Sam and Emi. I lost my cell phone last week and of course all of my numbers - his included. Unfortunately I will not be able to take any of his birds, we are a one bird house. With the health issues of my Significant Other, I understand Sams situation. It is very difficult to care for your birds when you have your own health concerns to deal with - especially when the number is up to about 20!

My prayers are with them and I hope all birdies find forever homes.

Yes, Monica, Sam's is working today for me, also. I hope this means Sam is feeling better, has fixed all his computer problems and will stop in to say 'Hi'.

I found a 2006 picture with Smokey, Pixie, Gizmo, Missy and sweet Ginger. That is the exact picture I would have posted, as each bird is so clear, when I asked for possible 'flavors'. Last in the column-popcorn_birds http://www.wa4phy.net/images/cockatiels

Again, thanks to everyone who has helped...... Fingers crossed that Sam comes to visit.......
