Oh, how sad. I'm sorry. How did the little bird die? I see you have a whole flock of cockatiels and the two little budgies in your pictures. Are any of them tame? I suppose the weather is always fine for them since it looks like they are in their native land.

None are hand tame but the tiels are tame enough to preen your hair and to take a sunflower seed out of your hand :D
The mum (whiteface pearl) used to let me scratch her head (since she's had the babies for some reason she doesn't like me anymore :( ) and she also sometimes jumps on your back when you're cleaning the aviary.
She's gorgeous, this is her

She is a beauty! I'm not familiar with all the proper names for the different mutations, but I've always loved the pearl gray and white colors.

Raisin our lutino doesn't seem to like me as much lately either! Aren't they moody little things. She normally loves to have her head scratched and even to snuggle in your hands when she feels like it, but lately she has been funny with me and only lets my daughter do this. I can hold her and she'll sit on my shoulder, but doesn't want me to touch her. Hopefully it's just a stage. I'm thinking its because she has been molting and has lots of annoying pin feathers around her neck. She is really my daughter's bird, so only she has the privilege of scratches at the moment. Meanwhile, I've got lots of love from Rickie the budgie. He can't seem to get enough from all of us!

I love cuddly birds :D

If you look at my mob in my "signature" from L to R you see Meg (mum), a whiteface pearl split for pied
Next to her Noah (dad), a normal grey who is split for pied and surprised us by being split for pearl but I was actually told he was split Whiteface....
Then you get their babies, the first one is Saffron, a pied (my sweetest one, he let me kiss and stroke his tummy this morning :) )
And then we have Riley, aka Pearlie but now really not called Pearlie anymore cause being a real male pearl he's lost pretty much all of his pearls :(
Next to him Mango a pied pearl he is a beauty isn't he?

I also had 3 more greys in this clutch, two males and 1 female, but they have all gone to good homes......

aw poor little budgie... :( What happened?
BTW Saffron is absolutely gorgeous!
Sometimes Mum birds get a bit unfriendly after they have babies. My Lucille isn't as friendly as she used to be because she prefers her mate Linus. She will let me kiss her beak but she will not let me scratch her head anymore.I am glad she has a mate and prefers his attention. She's a lovely bird and deserves a sweetie :)
