I received a sample of HARI Tropimix and pellets yesterday in the mail. The pellets have a definate orange smell to them, and I doubted anyone would even try them. I put a small dish of the pellets in the cages, and not a single bird would even taste them, including Chibi, who will try just about anything. I guess because it does not smell like grain, they think it is not food. I've not had much luck with any of the kids eating fruit, and didn't really expect them to. The only fruit I ever had any success with was with Coco, now deceased, but she did like oranges and to some degree, fuji apples. I think I'll send e-mail or call some of the others again and see if I get samples. As far as I'm concerned, if they like the LaFebers, not much point in trying to change, but it surely won't hurt anything. I suppose in a way, it's good they don't like the Tropimix, as there is no retailer anywhere in the area that has it. Nearest supply for me would be in FL.
