Check out this add I found tonight on craigslist........http://westernmass.craigslist.org/pet/1029070263.html I can't believe that someone can be that irresponsible and want to give unweaned cockatiels for 20 bucks! I emailed them and asked for them to contact someone I know of closeby, as I am very closeby to this person with the add. the guy raises birds, so maybe he will take them for her. I sure hope she calls him and tries to do the right thing by these birds. It really makes me sad to see adds like this.....luckily I don't see many bad ones around my area, so this was kind of a shock.

OMG I guess she didn't realize she/he would have to hand feed them when something went amuck. And yes, hand feeding babies is a big committment! When I had to hand feed my babies I would come home from work at lunch to feed them and make sure I was home in late afternoon and evening to feed them too!
Maybe she should contact "crystal parrot" if she wants the birds off her hands but not expect any $$.

Crystal Parrot is somewhat far.....about 45 minutes maybe. I gave her the number to someone who raises birds very closeby to us. I don't know the guy personally, but I have his card from the pet store where Pip came from, and someone I know knows him and at the very least he's very experienced, so I'm hoping she calls him and considers just giving the birds to him......the heck with the 60 bucks....I would hope that the babies lives are worth more than that! I haven't heard anything back from the email I sent to this person yet, hoping to get a response that she did the right thing and this guy will probably be willing to take them.

Hmmmm, the post was deleted by it's author.....the person posting took the add off. I wonder if they did what I said? and the birds are safe now? Obviously she didn't get them to people that quick, so I am hoping! Now I cannot contact the person to see what happened to them. I can, however call the guy who's number I gave to her and ask if anyone contacted him with three baby tiels. I sure hope the babies are ok.

Ok, I posted an add asking the person to please email me and let me know what happened with the babies and if they are ok.......the person posted again with this response...
I decide to let the parents raise them. I was getting rude emails and anyone that was interested was either too far away or wanted them for free. Hopfully the parents will stop plucking them.
Other than them plucking them, they are feeding them well. Their crops are always full. Thanks for your concern.

Do you think that it's ok to just leave those babies be with parents plucking?? at least they are being well fed, but will they be ok and can anything serious come the parents plucking, because obviously this person is just leaving these babies to be plucked....nice, huh? Won't give them up for free to do right by them and wondering why they getting rude emails

I had emailed that person as well suggesting to call crystal parrot.
What will happen with the plucking parents is that they will increasingly become more aggressive I've heard horror stories about babies losing eyes etc..

I went to the site that you listed, and it said that the listing ,had been removed.
It's plain to see that someone if not you, obviously feels outraged , by this ad as well.
It's good to know that there are people out there who are watchful,
and concerned, as i'm sure I would've been if I had seen .

I wasn't so much outraged by the add......I was just concerned about the babies, and this person posting this add lives very closeby to me. When I emailed her, I tried to be nice, although she may not have thought it was the nicest email, she still answered me the second time, so obviously she knew I was only concerned. I wonder how those babies are doing now, and when they will wean and be able to grow back the plucked feathers.
