Caique Toys

Postby surfinbella on Sat Jan 05, 2008 6:33 pm

:D
Hello! I have a very spoiled Caique named Bella. I was wondering what toys other spoiled Caiques enjoy. Bella is very easy to buy toys for as long as she can hang, swing, surf, crawl throuh or jump on them! Haha. A couple of Bella's favorite toys are ferret tunnels and a big plastic igloo typically used for ginuea pigs and ferrets. What kind of toys do your caiques enjoy??

Thanks

thanks for the "extra" ideas on toys..i'm always trying to think of inexpensive things bailey would like so i can keep giving him a variety without breaking the bank  one of his favorite toys right now is his boing and an empty tiolet paper roll.

Some of Beaker's first, and favorite toys have come from Super Bird Toy Creations. The toys are affordable, fun and safe.

THE JOLLY BALL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its Ciscos favorite. He beats the tar outta the hanging stuff on the side and will climb in and out of it and even take naps inside. Check out DJ Feathers - I got one when we got our little boy. Tho hes growing up fast - his chest is starting to whiten up a lot

Our increadiby spoiled birds have each other as their favorite toys followed very closely by us. :-)

Towels are a big hit; as is anything they can go under. For Christmas they got a toy dresser about 8 inches high. Sparky loves to open drawers so we thought it would be a hit. They also got a half size wooded mail box. Niether have gotten much attention yet but they were only a few dollars at the craft store. Rag wool socks are the current favorite. Sparky crawls in all the way to the end then backs out and looks like the most rumpled bird you could imagine. Mika rarely goes in and actually turned around down in the toe to come out without mussing up her feathers. She also enjoys rolling Sparky over when he is in the sock! We can't let them play with these too much as they get a little over excited.

Freddy's right about the Jolly ball, too. Ours have both a big one and a medium one and they love chasing each other around on and in them.

Your kids sound like a roudy pair !!! You are so right in that we are Ciscos favorite play thing !!!! Nothin better than "get your beak" or a good exploration inside a shirt   . Im glad others have the Jolly Ball, they are such fun for them.

Taco loves wiffle balls. He grabs them with his beak and slams them against the grate at the bottom of his cage. Within 2 days it's torn to pieces! californiabirdnerds sells them at a reasonable price.

Yankee loves everything that he thinks that I don't want him to have. One of his favorite playtime activities is to try to chew holes in whatever shirt that I am wearing.

C'mon Cathy - after all what good is a shirt without some ventilation?  . Yeah I have several designated "Caique" shirts. Cisco likes it when I wear them inside out so he can get to the tags and the seams !!

Some designated shirts?

Postby Cathy on Tue Jan 15, 2008 6:04 am

Freddy, I know that Cisco is brilliant but do you mean to tell me that he will only chew holes in your designated "Caique" shirts? Yankee isn't nearly so picky, he'll chew holes in any and all shirts! In fact, he's so smart that he chews holes faster in my best shirts!
