Sadly, the bird world is full of scammers.

This ad was actually in the local flyer. It's called the green sheet where people sell stuff, pets, appliances, lost and found etc.... It's like a free flyer you can pick up at walmart or grocery store.....

Please be so careful when dealing with ad's like this. The bad thing is that even though some scammers stand out, others are getting smart and some of the recent ones I've seen are quite well written and articulate.

I once saw an add here for a female eclectus for $100. I've seen other ads for other large parrots for a cheap price... doesn't mean it's a scam (although it could be). The main thing to worry about would be the condition of the birds health and behavioral problems. If the bird is perfectly happy, it's a steal! If the bird has health problems or otherwise, you'll end up with a lot of vet bills...

Maybe it is a scammer, but my first thought was that perhaps the seller meant to put $1600 instead of $160.

There was an ad here on Up at Six for a Rose Breasted Cockatoo for $120. I guessed that the person meant to post $1200 but accidentally left off a zero. I sent them a PM, and sure enough. They corrected the price.
