Well, my husband and I finally got moved back to OH and have almost settled back into the house. Louie has carved out his nest for daytime use and also claims a nighttime area since we tend to play the TV too loud and visit the kitchen too late in the evening for him to get a good uninterrupted sleep.
So this past weekend we made our maiden voyage in the RV. Louie travelled to the campground in his carrier and then spent the majority of time Lording over everyone from the top area...complete with side windows for his private viewing pleasure. He quickly adjusted to the new sights, sounds, and sleeping arrangements. His appetite WAS NOT affected in the least and he found the table to be an acceptable training area (I still think this trick training is more me being trained than Louie! ) When his night time came he accepted the closing of the curtains and covering of his cage without incident.
I think all-in-all he enjoyed the change of scenery, but it was obvious he was glad to get back into the roomier quarters of his at-home cage.
Still cannot get him to "enjoy" his play stand since he only wants to use me as his portable away-from-cage play area!
Just an update...hope everyone enjoyed their Halloween ... anyone dress up their feather friends? I was going to but got too busy to make a costume. Oh well, maybe Thanksgiving.
