That is indeed very sad news. What a wonderful bird he was. Truely an original, he showed just how smart theses animals really are. Im sure his people are devastated.

Gosh... he was 31 years old!! Look how much knowledge he had stuffed into that brain of his... the world lost one SPECTACULAR bird!! It's such a shame! :cry:

how sad! Thanks for sharing, Kate. Alex was still rather young for an African Grey. Hopefully we'll find out more on Monday.

I am so attached to Yankee after only 11 months, that I can't imagine how I would feel after 30 years! How sad.
