I appreciate your support with our recently 'disbarred' poster. I've been on this forum for a very long time and I try not to really lash out at people like that, but when you read the very first post from someone like this, you know it's not going to be pretty. I'll only take a few posts that show someone's ignorance before I have to jump in and speak my mind. We all know caiques are the most fabulous birds in the world, but like most all species (and actually maybe even a little bit more), they are a handful. When you see someone whining about money for this or trades for that, you know the poor birds are the ones who are going to suffer. I just truly hope those birds can find a good loving home where they are cared for and appreciated for the goodness and beauty God gave them.
Hugs,
Andrea

Andrea, I know what you mean.
I feel sorry for the little darlings.
I will keep my fingers crossed that they find a new loving, caring home.

I was completely appalled when I read his posts.
The way he insulted you and other users was completely uncalled for.
You're one of the nicest and smartest people on here, and you don't deserve that, nobody does.

Not everything is about money. The animals should come first.
The best things in life are those who share it with you.

I shouldn't have let him get to me because I know that the best way to deal with someone like him is to ignore him. Unfortunately, I'm afraid that he was too ignorant for anything that we said to have an impact on him. We can only try to help those that really are asking for help and he was just looking for an audience.

One thing that I have discovered, is that there are so many good breeders and conscientious people that if forums like this one stay up and running, there will be more healthy and contented birds and happy people who care for them. I think that this forum does make a positive difference in the lives of many birds and their owners. I know that I have received lots of good advice and encouragement and I know that my birds are better for it and I have gained the necessary confidence to deal with them.

I have learned about:
a healthy diet
bathing
safe toys and where to get some of them
where to buy the perfect tent
cage sizes
multiple birds
dealing with a new baby bird
The list just goes on and on and for that, I thank you all. Keep up the good work.

I almost forgot one of the most important affects of this board, I feel like I have gained new friends from all over the world who share a common interest and grow to care about each other through our love of birds. God bless you all.
