food questions

It seems everytime I buy Petey new food I get something different.

I bought him Vitavittles this time. The Netherlands stuff looked good for my tiel, so I got him that last time, but the parakeet stuff looks like it has little else but seed so I didn't get my keet that.

Anyway, I bougth my tield Zupreems Fruitblend pellets as I want to get him switched. I got the kind for cockatiels. But I compared the analysis of fat and all that on the back and it is the same as the parakeet kind...only these pellets are bigger. Can I just crush some to start converting my parakeet too?

Zupreem basically makes one blend for all parrots... so yes, you could crush up the tiel ones (or leave whole) and feed to your budgie... although the natural pellets are probably better for them (no dyes).

IMO, the seed/pellet mixes in the cheap seed blends are crap... and any seed that has dyes in it is also crap... and no bird (IMO) should be completely switched to pellets... they should still get some amount of seeds, even if they are sprouted.
