Poor Lucy!

Postby ladybuggz on Fri Oct 19, 2007 11:30 pm

Bringing Lucy home and letting her get used to our household going on's was a good thing, putting her in ole'Sammies cage, I kind of feel sorry for her, he's all over her!! I've basically sentanced her to an arranged marriage!! She never had a say!! Sammie is regurgitating all day, leaning against her, almost pushing her against the side of the cage, she has been accepting his Amore', even one point today, I watched Sam lean up against her and she started to gently prean him, and he just kept moving his head around to where ever it felt good(I used to do that  !), it was a sweet sight, they are even eating side by side!
I tried a couple of times, slowly, to get Lucy to let me touch her,and each time, Sam would race over and try to bite me, if he wasn't there, I would of succeded! oh well!!
We'll see how the love story is tomorrow!! ta! ta!

I'm sorry you've gotten so little response to your earlier posts this last week. It sounds like your old guy has taken a new lease on life  Since she's responding to his advances, she'll probably be okay.

I hope they have a long, happy marriage, but if/when he does pass on happy and well-loved, you'll have a chance to tame her. Usually when a new bird is brought into a home where another bird already lives, the newcomer has 30-60 days of quarantine to be sure she's bringing no contagions with her. This solitary time gives the parront a good opportunity to forge a bond. When the new bird is finally introduced to the others, that bond stays and makes her much easier and pleasanter for you to live with.

    Good luck with your pair!
