How is the little budgie doing? Is he warm? (heating pad covered at bottom of cage with covers partially covering cage help)
how many days on the meds so far? How are you administering the meds?
Is he eatting and pooping? What does his poop look like? normal (good)or green and slimy (not good)? Make sure his water is CLEAN and you thoroughly clean the water dishes & dry them.
I found Smitty on the beach after a horrible storm. he had a nasty bacterial infection from the seagulls and who-knows-what-he-ate found on the beach. I took him to the vet and they found this odd megabacterial found on seagulls. He took the meds and survived quite nicely.

Thanks for asking about Fizz. I THINK he is doing well. It is hard to know. His poops looks SO much better, nearly normal I'd say. They are well formed, moist, and the right color, medium greenish with white centers. He is eating Harrisons High Potency pellets now (yay!) along with seed, and he has gotten all the way up to 32 grams (from his low of 24). So, all that is GOOD. But, he is still breathing hard, inactive, and a bit fluffed. I do have him under a heat lamp, so he is nice and warm. I give him the meds with a small syringe, but it is so hard to get it IN him. I hope he is at least getting some of it, if not most of it. alot seems to run OUT of his beak, but I think some, if not most, does get in. He is on day 6 of the meds. I think the megabac treatment is working well and that his digestive portion of his illness, is getting better. But Im just not sure how well the respiratory illness is coming along. The heavy breathing and low activity, and being fluffed a bit stilll, has me concerned. I dont know, maybe it just takes more time and I am being too impatient. We go back to see the vet on Friday, so that will be a good indicator of how things are going.

Wow, that is so encouraging about your Smitty! He REALLY did beat the odds, didnt he? Amazing. Thanks for sharing that. I hope I have a happy ending to tell before too long, too, with little Fizz. He's trying so hard...I just hope and pray he can pull it off! Thanks for asking...

We're kinda neighbors....Im in NH!
