Yep, afraid so! Applies to anything that can be sprayed within the house, anything that gives off a fume that is not natural (i.e. air fresheners, nonstick pans, self cleaning ovens, hair dryers and toasters that may contain teflon, and many cleaning chemicals.... other possible hazards include smoking, spray on deodorants or even perfume/cologne, etc)

It's because that birds have a very good respiratory system due to the fact that they constantly fly... however, this makes them susceptible to anything that could get in their lungs (air sacs) that could potentially damage them.... thus making it hard for them to breath or even leading to death.

Diluted Bleach, vinegar, GSE (Grapefruit Seed Extract), and baking soda are safe to use to clean with. Vinegar and baking soda are also good ways to remove smell. Using a steam cleaner is also quite beneficial. You can leave citrus peels out and about your house for a natural air freshener. You could also boil cinnamon sticks, the citrus peels, rosemary, etc to help freshen your house. All Natural is better for a birds health.
