Took me a long time to convince the budgies that pellets are really food and not just really cool (albeit expensive) projectiles.

Must confess they still like seeds best, but have lots of options.

They love greens and corn on the cob, but are not too impressed by most other fruits and veggies.

I have both Harrison & Roudybush on the way. They can both be bought from their websites!! I also picked up some ZuPreem Fruit Blend Parakeet pellets from the pet store... I swear they ate some today but I'm not 100% sure... they were at least playing with it if not eating it!!!

catschair, those are nice looking Budgies... how many do you have??

Ok I'm a bit concerned... my budgies are doing REALLY good with eating the ZuPreem Fruit Blend pellet food!! They will not touch the Harrison or Roudybush pellets yet (I'm not concerned about that because they have not had enough time to get used to it).

Their poop is orange which I kind of expected because of our conversations above. Here’s my concern, their poop is runny… runnier than it looked before but not really runny. Could this be because of the new food or should I make a vet appointment??

The other foods they eat (or the other foods we are currently offering) are parsley, broccoli, cabbage, and carrots... and we are still feeding them their seeds everynight just to make sure they get enough to eat.

    Thanks,

Pellets are really dry... but in short it's grainy food.... Have you ever tried this stuff? I tried the Zupreem Natural and to be honest, it basically turned into a bunch of sand in my mouth... very '"ugh!"! And do to the diet being so DRY birds require more water to keep them hydrated... thus their droppings may in fact become wetter...

Fresh foods will also cause wetter droppings.
