Does anyone recommend a good company that would sell wireless cameras that I could be install inside of a nestbox without distrubing the macaws.

I have this system, and you can get extra cameras to add onto it. Easy wireless setup with infrared to see inside the nestbox.

You get four channels with the initial receiver, so if you got more nestboxs then you'll have to add additional receivers.

From the outside I drill holes into the nest box and cover the inside of that hole with a cut piece of clear plastic. The mounting is very primative using strapling and screws. When the system is on the box I do not let the birds out to climb on the cage for obvious reasons.

Thanks, do you know if you need to have it connected to computer or actually how does it work. I have some macaws that I rather not distrub their nestbox if possible.

It can connect to many things, read the instructions on that web page. I have a wireless system to my lap top but it also connects to many things. Yes I use it for my Macaws, that's how I caught them playing pool with the eggs and started to apply a different strategy. Since then I also added the CAG's and Eclectus's also, so now I monitor them all. You'd think I was monitoring Fort Knox here but I can also peek in on them while I'm at work so it gives me some piece of mind, well worth the investment.

I brought up this discussion last year and didn't much of a reply I guess everyone thought I was nuts or something. But if you have as much at stake as I do the little I put up for the cameras and wireless system I made back on the first baby that survived when in all intents and purposes it wouldn't have. Besides when they are not going to nest I use parts of the system to monitor my house so with a little movement I get dual use out the whole thing.

I found my cameras on ebay. You will want cameras with night vision and audio. You can hook the cameras up to your computer or TV. Very simply to operate. I've drilled a small hole on top of the nest box, just big enough for the lense, then mount the camera outside the box. It is simply amazing what you will see!

I am so glad I put camera's on my nest boxes. and also on the out side to see when a new pair are interested in each other.
How I came about putting camera's on the nest box. I bought survalance cameras from harbor fraight Co. Very cheap.
to moneter my drive way. So I thought ,how could I mount one of them on the nest box. Works great. I drilled a hole at the end of box away from the lid,just the size of the lens put that in the hole and used hot glue to secure it to the box.The cameras have sound also. I don't have to be with the birds to know what is going on,
The only draw back on these camera I have wires strung out. I have the TV,s in the house and can watch and hear my birds all the time,
At the moment I have just one pair that are nesting.
My eggs are infertile. The male has not learned or brave enough to climb on top.
He seems to know what to do but can't figure out how.
With out the cameras I would not know this and would be wondering why they are not making babies. This way I know the reason.
