Putting a pair of Amazons together

My question is can two birds from the same clutch be pair together????
I have two Blue Front Amazons that are brother and sister from the same clutch if I keep them can they become a pair and when they mature have babies or do they need to be from different clutches?

No, birds that are siblings, either from the same or separate clutches, should not be allowed to reproduce babies. Birds, cats, dogs, etc. that are related should not be paired.

You can, and as long as they have healthy genes, they can produce healthy offspring. (Royal families in the past used to reproduce *ONLY* within the family) However, there's also a chance that breeding them together will create weaker offspring which may have genetic defaults that cause them health problems. Therefore, it is recommend to *NOT* breed them together, and to try and at least ensure they are not related, to reduce any chance of health problems arising in future offspring.

I would highly recommend against breeding parrots that are brother to sister or father to daughter or mother to son. This weakens the gene pool and the likely hood of serious medical, health issures, physical, or genetic abnormalities. It is also not considered responsible breeding. Have you had the birds sexed? If so, then try to find another breeder who would be interested in trading same or opposite sexes of unrelated birds. That way you will have an unrelated pair that will produce viable and healthy offspring. Common sense in this situation should prevail.

That is true; however, if I remember my history correctly, some members of the royal families had a genetic defect, possibly hemophelia?
