I recently brought home a baby cockatiel (3 weeks old) and started hand feeding her. She was a slow starter as she had never been handfed prior to coming home with me but did better on the 2nd day and very well on the 3rd. The tempuature is high enough in the brooder to facilitate digestion and she has grown very fast in this past week. I noticed she was pecking at the drops of fomula that dropped in front of her on the paper towel so I brought over a millet spray and she was pulling seed off. So I put some softened pellets in and they appear to have been either beaked or stood in. She has started taking off so I am hard pressed to keep her at the feeding station paying attention to the spoon. She just ducks it and wants to fly. Should I be concerned about this lack of interest in formula? She seems way too young to be weaning. I haven't done this in several years. May be I'm just not remembering right.
