Ok, I need a little input here if someone wouldn't mind. I put an ad on the classifieds that I was looking to buy babies out of the nest to handfeed.
I got this reply the day after:

So, I e-mailed the lady and these are all of her replies for the past few days. I am 99.9 percent sure that this is a scam.. Even so I find myself still hoping:) Before I expose her as a scammer I want to try to make sure she is one. Any input would be helpfull.

Thanks for the mail.I remember Mary we had just shipped some babies to her.I am happy to know that you are an experienced handfeeder.I always take much precausion when giving out young birds because most people can not take care of them.I was not aware you were that far from me but if you can take care of the shipping and show them lot of love and care then i will adopt them to you.Will you prefare taking only the grey babies or you will want some different species.My husband and i are presently running the Baptist Orphanage in Barcelona.I hope to read from you.Have a happy Sunday.

Thanks for the mail.I have just macaw, african grey and amazon babies ready for shipping.I can only have some other species by next week.If you are confortable with any of them you let me know.I had babies shipped to Mary via the Delta Express Shipping Company and every thing went on succesfully.I am realy happy because she is taking good care and the babies are fine.If in case you have any difficulties along the line always let me know so that i can guide you as i did with Mary.She was the first i accepted to ship youngs to for i dont always trust people about taking care of them.I know what it means.I hope to read from you.Have a nice day.

Thanks for the mail.Presently i have just 5 hyacinth macaws,2 amazons,2senagals and 3 african grey babies.There range between 3weeks to 10 weeks.Delta is always raedy.As soon as you are prepared do let me know so that we can book them for the firt flight that day.As soon as you are ready to take care of the shipping you let me know.I also need your address and names so that i can prepare papers for change of ownership and an adoption certificate.It is not possible to ship a bird without all these papers .The adoption certificate will help reduse the cost for shipping because it is always expensive to ship birds when you are selling.My husband has and exportation licence which will help facilitate things.Tell me exactly the number you will want so that i can negociate on the shipping and get to you with the cost.I will need $100 upfromt so that i can get all papers ready.You can contact Delta using deltaexpressshipping@airpost.net .I hope to read from you.Have a nice day.

I had to take a drive over to the shipping airlines to find out about the shipping cost for the 8 babies you want.Shipping to the Saint Luis MO will cost $750 and the change of ownership papers will cost $220.I will need your names and address so that i can have the papers done.I have made an order for some special cages that i will use for the shipping.If you are set i can handle every paper work today and book them for the first fligt tomorrow.You will have to be at the Airport on time because i will not want that they are kept long at the Airport without any proper care.I hope to read from you .Have a nice day .

When in doubt the answer is no!
This guy can't even speak proper English! I've gotten many e-mails saying I bought a bird from so and so and he is very reliable e-mail him I'm sure he can help! The reply from him stated "Who recommended me?" etc etc. All the red flags are there DON'T DO IT!!!

I never respond when the person doesn't speak correct english, this is a dead giveaway. She switch from "I have just macaw, african grey and amazon babies ready for shipping" to "Presently i have just 5 hyacinth macaws,2 amazons,2senagals and 3 african grey babies." This is another red flag. Her husband as an exporation licence? What does that mean? Also, a lot of scammer will try to convince you they are not by saying things like "My husband and i are presently running the Baptist Orphanage in Barcelona". Or they say they are selling everything to build a church. This is a load of crap.

You forgot the ones that refers to your bird as an "item". Oh yes it is for there son's/daughters birthday and you must respond "immediately" also they are waiting to "read" from you. The newest one "AKC" registered? I get so many of these e-mails every day I can't even laugh at them anymore. I spent an hour reading from the "scammers" site. It is absolutely incredible that these people think that we are going to fall for their scams to the point of sending them several thousand dollars of our money.

Thanks for all the help everyone. I e-mailed her a few more times and "she" sent pictures of the babies, I googled the pictures and found 3 out of the five were available to anyone who cared to look. I didn't bother looking farther. marybent is a scammer!
We need to make up a forum on this site so we can post ever member who is either a scammer or dishonest. Thankfully I did not send any money, but somebody else might, and she asked me for over a thousand when she was just getting started.

If you want some GOOD reading go to http://www.bustedupcowgirl.com She has a LONG list of scamers that she and now others have been "playing" with. They are now costing the scamers money with all those over nighted fake checks. This site was originally for her to sell her horses, but most has been taken over by the posting of the dialog of the scams. It's great reading while you eat lunch at your computer.

Sure wish I had the time to cost them some money!
