Lory life given to eclectus

Postby Genesis Parrot on Sat Apr 05, 2008 2:35 am

Greetings fellow eclectus breeders and pet owners.....

Has anyone else besides our aviary experimented with using Lory Life powder as a percentage of our eclectus main diet? If so please share your data/results.....I personaly have been experimenting with this product for 4 years or so, with fantastic results on eclectus. The product is specially formulated for lory's, but as my studies conclude that eclectus arn't far from basically large lory's with near the exact same diet in the wild. This fact led me to try this on our eclectus flock.

Summing up here basically I feel this product is a huge asset to our flock of eclectus.

I have thought of using a lory diet as part of the diet for my breeding goffin's cockatoos also, as these are treetop birds, of old forests. My old pair was productive with an added diet of fruit, vegetables, fresh corn, and flowers that were heavy with nectar and pollen .

    Hi Jeremy,

Are you just using the powder or also the nectar? I've never tried it but would like to give it a try. I also raise lories so I already have both the powder and the nectar on hand.

    Thanks
    Ralph
