A question on sales

Postby IdahoLynxx on Thu Mar 27, 2008 1:23 am

Hi I have a question for everyone. Where are some good places to post babies(macaws) besides here? I am starting to get more babies then just a small hobby and could use some Ideas for places to sell.
Thanks,
Dustin

There's Hoobly, Avian Biotech, your local classifieds, probably BirdsNWays, sometimes other forums have places to advertise as well...

If you just google "parrot classifieds" or "bird classifieds" or something similar, you'll probably find a lot of places you could advertise.

A couple other sites are Aviary Info and Echo's Haven (TooLady).

I used to check out Birds N Ways regulary, but they haven't been keeping it updated. There haven't been any new ads posted since December 1, 2007. One thing I liked about their site is that people were required to post their city and state. Ads were checked before they were posted by the admin to make sure that the zip code provided was for the city and state entered. It reduced the scammers, or at least the out of country ones.

The Parrot Pages used to be a good place to post and check ads also, but it's no longer worth the time to even look there. The majority of the ads are scammers.

Then there's Bird Talk Magazine, which will cost you a bit, and require you to plan about 3 months ahead. And the local pet shops and feed stores. The idea is to sell within an area that's close to you.
If you've kept up with the posts about macaws, you might understand that the market is not what it used to be, and you might consider a moratorium in reproduction.

Hello, I own avianclassifieds at yahoogroups.com I moniter each and every ad that goes out to our members. LInks in ads are not allowed to keep out scammers.

although, pictures are allowed with all ads to our members.

I hope this helps,

BirdsOhio is a very small hobby breeder. All of our birds live in our home - not in a separate building, a garage, or a basement. Our birdie babies speak for themselves, and we stand behind them. http://www.geocities.com/birdsohio

I also use birdbreeders.com, a great site! Yes, you know have to pay to actually have listings, but you do get inquiries. It has been slow lately, but that site has made many of my sales possible.
