White capped pionus

Postby TheParrotletPlace on Sat Jan 19, 2008 12:14 am

Hello, I have a pair of wcp.

They are 6-8 they are not proven- They have been set up in the past and shown interest in the nest box. I have bred birds and have been owned by birds for many years. Although I am new to pionus.

Does anyone have any helpful hints?
I do have a nest box on them and they are chewing around the opening.

Thanks :)

Do you have your White Caps in the house or outdoors? If outside they won't be breeding at this time of year... in the house, maybe. Are they well bonded to each other? If they are both 7 to 8 years old they are certainly well sexually mature for mating. Sometimes they may just play house for a while and who knows maybe this year they will do something for you. Feed them well and provide toys and things to chew on and they will be happy campers but don't forget they have to be bonded well enough to produce some babies! Good luck!
