Kerrie and tweetebirds I would like to thank you for your kind advice. It is comforting to find people who realise that I am only human and need advice even if the advice seems obvious to those in the know. During my 12 years of ownership I have spoken to many experts regarding companionship and the possible breeding of my birds and had previously encountered no objections. The views of people here in the UK seem to be vastly different from those in the States.
I am certainly in fact finding mode and appreciate all the advice given and will take it on board for the future.
My birds are currently happy doing what birds do, preening, playing, talking, etc and not taking any notice of the nest. I have decided to leave the nest there until June (as per previous advice) and see what happens. If no further interest I will remove it.
