Thanks guys! The little fella is settling in a bit. He still has moments when he would really prefer to not be with us, but, he does indeed love his handrearing formula. So I know in just a matter of days he will be a real member of the flock. Most of my rescue work was done in another state, the policy there was "rehab and release or euthanise". I found that to be at odds with my own personal ideals, so relocated to SA a few years back. The policy here is just the opposite. I would have to get special permission to release this little guy back into the wild. So he's with us for life now. I'll try to get a few pics of him today to post on my photo page. He is really cute. Looks like a technicolor budgie...lol
I would love to name him Lucky, but our Queen tiel is Lucky. Named that for a similar reason. So I am thinking about calling him Clover.
Sometimes I really do feel as if fate takes us by the hand and guides us. I was about a milli-second from turning in the opposite direction and walking away and would have never seen this little guy. He would have no doubt been cat or snake food before dark. (I know there's a bloody big snake lurking around back there somewhere because I found some hatched out herp eggs the other day. And they were the size of small chicken eggs!!!)
