The longtime UAS 'tiel breeder who finally persuaded me to use 5% Sevin dust told me breeders sprinkle it inside the nestbox with chicks in there. As long as you're careful to use only the 5% strength, I'm as certain as a human can be that your chicks will be safe. Not that I expect you to put it into the nest box. From my experience, you won't need to. Just a quarter teaspoon across each trail, close to the ants' entrance into the room, and they'll soon be gone. VERY soon 8)

Thank you. I figured out where they are coming in, so that won't be a problem. I have cleaned them all up for the moment and sprayed the trail with poop-off to erase the scent trail they were following. I figured out what drew them in, the freeze dried insect food that I've had free choice for the birds. They aren't eating it, so out it went.

I'll pick up the seven dust today and hopefully that will be the end of ants coming in through the cracks of the windows!!

Sevin dust applied successfully!! I can't believe how fast the ants went away. Trying to figure out how much is needed around the garbage cans (outside) to get rid of the ants there.

There are many pest control products that you can use around your pets (even birds) that are completely safe. I recommend this site: http://www.domyownpestcontrol.com

    Cheers! :D

Sorry to sound helpless, Sam, but what part of your site addresses the needs of a parront?
