I need to ask if you sell someone a bird, and they turn around within 2 wks time don't want him anymore, and is trying to sell it, do you turn around and ask for it back and give them a full refund. I asked for him back and told him I would refund him his money minus the normal $50 deposit, since I could have had that bird a great home already? thanks

I would prefer to get the bird back so that I could select the new home. If you don't refund the $50 deposit, I think that is more than fair, if the guy is willing to sell the bird back to you. You may find that he will try to recoup all his money since he's only had the bird for 2 weeks. In that case, you will have to decide which is more important to you - $50 or the bird. And if that is the case, I'd probably just refund the money so I could make sure the bird goes to a better and more committed home this time.

thank you, I would rather have the bird back, and since i told him what I would do, he has not written back. I am so upset, my poor baby. Goes to show that even if you screen people, things like this can happen. I do have his number, so if I don't hear back from him, I will call him tonight and see whats up. I know he is trying to recoop his money, even though he seemed like money was no matter, cause he went to the most expensive pet store around here to get the cage for him and what not. Instead of waiting to go to petsmart or whatever. He paid $200 for my conure and is asking $300 cause of the supplies. I told him I don't need the supplies, he can sell that seperate. Petdiva's point is that you might need to buy the bird back on his terms for the bird's safety.
