Check back when the last egg might be about 28 days.
In the meantime, you should consider all options:
If you have babies, are you prepared for handfeeding them, at about 2 weeks old ?
What is the market for macaws in your area ?

Separating an infertile pair is probably not the best choice, and you can't always
blame the male. Obviously, you like the idea of producing babies, now, but
will you be creating more problems for yourself ?

Although this doesn't necessarily have anything to do with how viable the eggs may be (although it will create offspring with inferior genetics), is there any chance that the pair may be related? As in brother/sister?

Ok..you just got this pair and they have been together for 12 years. I'm wondering why on earth you are already talking about getting a new male to put with the hen? First if you did just get them and they already went to nest I highly doubt this clutch will be fertile, if they aren't then you NEED to give them more TIME. They are not parakeets. If they are that strongly bonded what's wrong with leaving them with each other? And as MFids said you need to make sure they are not related.

Even if they are related, if they've been bonded to each other for 12 years, I'm aghast that you would consider separating them. If you must breed, buy another pair, but please don't separate these two.

Hey, you can't get fertile eggs if they are not "Doing it" Macaws do it all over the place, on the perches, on the walls, on the floor, on top of the cage (which is my pairs best spot) when people are there or not! I usually tell my house guests that might be the case, and ... you guessed it, they like to do it in front of strangers.

A good mature pair will have four to six eggs a clutch. Make sure you use a proper candle, not too much power as the egg is sensitive and will die if the flashlight is too powerful.

Be sure to keep an egg book of this hen and put down the day and time of each egg laid, the day and time of piping, hatching, etc... I use a good egg wash, record the weight, check and number each one with a #2 pencil after each are laid. Usually I will take the last two eggs and incubate them artificially to make sure the hen is properly rotating them and humidity and heat are correct.

If you don't have successful clutches it isn't the birds fault. Check what you are doing wrong.

Come back and let us know about your success rate.
