If you have had cockatoo's for years and years don't tell me you didn't pick up some tips or tricks that may or may not work in my situation. Instead you all write rude comments. What is this site for? To make everyone feel worse about their situations???????

What was said above, no pity party here AAAAAMY. We want you to stand up and act responsible not just wave an magic wand. It is obvious you did not preparation before you got your U2 (on your own) and now you are asking (almost demanding) that we appear and answer your demands.

Yes, there are some people on this forum who are rude, harsh, and very unsympathetic.....I suspect this is the reason why this forum is always so slow now! Aamy is not trying to wave a magic wand! she is simply asking for advice, which, in case you have forgotten, is a big part of the REASON for these forums! Yes, she is asking for us to appear and try to help.....that is what reasonable, kind, compassionate people try to do for each other. I never saw it as a demand, it was a plea for help. I also believe that it is ok to criticize what people do, BUT, geez, do we think MAaaaaby we could try to do it in a little bit nicer way??
Hey purpleheart.....you know that guy who's house you're helping to build??? maybe you should tell him that he should have been prepared for this, after all....going to Iraq, he had to know the dangers, right?? That is the SAME kind of unsympathetic reasoning you are using here! Can't you see that?? Can't you even TRY to be a bit kinder in your words? or learn how to relay your message less harshly? I bet you could if you tried! It's a shame if you don't because you have alot to offer, and people will be more willing to listen if they aren't feeling like they are being attacked. I think you may have anger issues. People will never get to know the wonderful person you are underneath that anger if you don't learn how to deal with it in a kinder manner! I sure hope that you can learn how to do that one day.

Well Woody when somebody comes on here and says [quote] CASPERS LAST CHANCE[END QUOTE]

I have NO sympathy for them or their predicament......... PERIOD

As if we have to solve their problem or else........

So now your going to psychoanalyze me and tell me I have anger issues?

I have a difference of opinion when it comes to "people with no experience or educational background" prescribing a medical diagnosis upon a bird or for that matter A HUMAN. I don't care if you ever get to know me, that is not my purpose in my rebuttal. It is to make sure that a person who goes through these processes are made aware of the difficulties and problems that come about when people continually treat a bird as if it is human child. Let's face it, not many of these ladies on here have a decent child to call a success story never-less a bird!

As for these so called experts many have touted on here, they are nothing but somebody selling a book or experience FOR MONEY. Take for instance the two that being heralded here, only one has a Bachelor Degree and its only in zoology, so she is qualified to feed animals in the zoo, and that's it! She is not even an expert in ornithology. The other is a lady who wrote a book. And you people are telling this person to make life changing actions on her bird in hopes of what?

I have more credentials than she has, and outside of the fact that I do not sell a book, or have a web site that hocks everything from perches to water bowls.... ha ha ha. I have even attended a seminar where she was the speaker and was laughed completely off the stage (AFA Convention in 2007) so there are many who feel like me just not many of them willing to wade into your tea party. Besides who are you to say what or who can say anything on this site. Again if you don't have the science don't venture into the water. At least not without a life preserver.

No I don't agree with you, and never will. Deal with it!

Well at least you could get the book right? Its Karen Pryor- "Don't shoot the dog"

Purpleheart, how dare you attack who we are as parents. You know nothing about us. I'll have you know my son served his term in the navy and is now an administrator of the entire computer system of this cities energy company. My daughter is a dermatologist! So watch who you address. My children's success is just not due to their dedicated and hard work but how I brought them up as a single mother.
I have nothing more to say to you and will not continue to beat a dead horse. You obviously need guidance in the correct way to communicate with people, instead of spending your life marching into battle with everyone and their opinion. Say what you will about me. I know who I am and who my friends and family are and the respect I recieve from them. Good luck not dying a lonely old man.
I AM A SMALL HOBBY BREEDER WHO RAISES MY BIRDS WITH TLC AND KISSES. THEY ARE WEANED TO HIGH QUALITY PELLETS, FRESH FRUITS AND VEGGIES. ALL MY BIRDS ARE IN EXCELLENT HEALTH AND FEATHER. MY BABIES ARE RAISED WITH LOVE FOR YOU TO LOVE!

Well if the shoe fits, wear it! Wasn't signaling you out personally but if you think that I meant you, I probably did! As for the single mother thing.. you brought that up! And what pray tell does any of this have anything to do with birds, except that I made a comment about some of the tea party ladies here don't have a good example of raising children let alone birds! If that bothered you lady.. you are the one who really needs help!

Oh and by the way did you run off their father as well? With this very same attitude?

Wow you must think so highly of yourself to imagine that I was talking to you! You tea party ladies make me laugh!

P.S. Judy get a dictionary

Their father died of cancer when they were 3yo and 5 yo. Thank you for taking the time to respond to my posts. I am finished with this board.

Oh stick a fork in it lady, and I wasn't upset about the comment about the guy who got his legs blown off in service to the country?

You got to have some thick skin here Judy. Not everything is a tea party, where we all share the same answer, especially when it comes to things that have lasting effect to our birds. Grow up and quit being such a baby girl. Put those big girl pants on and learn how to disagree with someone, voice your opinion, and not get hurt. This is the real word.

I have to admit that you got all the spelling correct!

I usually say coffee clutch (or gaggle) but in your honor I said Tea party. A gaggle is an unorganized group doing nothing. Seems more like the term when thoughts or ideas are bantered around without any consideration what they might cause. But a tea party might be a better description as a bunch of old ladies sit around yacking, tend to find a happy medium of a subject, not offending anybody, but then again turn out to be a gaggle (do nothing) anyway.

Oh did I offend you?

Too bad so sad, and no I don't think anything of the sort.

No you didn't really offend me. I just think it interesting how you regard yourself as so much more superior than the rest of the population. You aren't going to get very far in imparting your huge amount of bird knowledge to those in need with that kind of attitude.

Purpleheart.....you really amaze me! It just really baffles me how someone so experienced and educated knows absolutely nothing about how you are supposed to treat people.....didn't your mother ever teach you to be polite??? Do you realize that trying to talk to you or voice an opinion with YOU is like banging your head against a wall??? Man....you are tough! it's your way or the highway! a bit stubborn to say the least! Do you realize that what you say puts people down? Are people only worth something to you if they have enough experience and education? Common sense is something you learn from life.....not from an education, so is loving people and having good relationships, learning how to get along with people.....at least most people! Come on now.....you don't have to agree with people...can't you just lighten up a little?? relax....being uptight and angry is not good for your health either! What Judy said.....about dying a lonely old man.....that was my thought too. Kinda hard to be around a person as harsh as you are....so you better go and thank each and every person in your life who puts up with you! Do you realize that it's a sad life when you look at things the way you do? Always judging and criticizing......do you ever go outside and take time to smell the flowers.....watch the birds outside, have a picnic on a nice sunny day with someone who makes you smile? You don't treat your family this way do you? geez, I hope not! I know that you don't care if I or someone else gets to know you......it's sad though. Some special person or people out there will hear your response to something and turn the other way and run! You may not care.....but that's only because you don't know what that person had to offer your life, that person could have changed your life.....been a great friend maybe and you really lose out on alot by having the attitude you do. Life is too short to be so critical. I know......you don't care! you don't care what I have to say, you don't care if you miss out on knowing people, just dismiss them because they aren't educated enough or have the experience to voice their opinion. I have one question for you purpleheart.....if all of us are such losers and can't say or do anything right, then why do you even bother being here with us?? Maybe for the same reason I still sit here banging my head against a wall? Probably not, but I can hope!

Wow you got all that out of what I wrote? Do the rocks and twigs talk to you ALSO? You really need some serious help. Go back and re-read what I have said AND IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT TOUGH. It's my opinion, I don't have to agree with you. Your education is apparent in your comments. How somebody could go on and on like that is beyond me. When I read your words I can just imagine a high pitched cackle that is sure to make anybody crazy.

By now, everything that had to be said, has been said, and a lot more that
shouldn't have been said. Time to move on. We aren't going to solve the
current problem, and I'm not sure if we will be able to keep the same thing
from happening again, and again, and again. Depressing, ain't it ?
Still, when we get to know...we begin to love, and when we love, we want to
protect. We probably didn't feel the same about the Mollucans in the wild,
but now we can see a much larger problem.
I'm sorry for all the hard feelings that have been generated, but I do trust that
each of us were caring and sincere, even if it didn't seem that way.
