This may not serve a purpose, at least not the purpose I'm looking for. There is a member, her name is Melissa Lee, her website is AvianElites.com and she has now scammed people that we know about of right at $200,000.00. I was one of the lucky ones, she only got me for $3,000.00. I can guarantee you that every ad she puts on UpAtSix is a scam. Also, her website is nothing but lies.
I have saved all of approximately 70 emails back and forth from her and me, before I agreed to send her money, a deposit on a supposedly "Proven, Very Prolific" pair. Then, after I sent her $1,000.00 to hold the pair for me, they supposedly laid eggs, so I had to wait about two months to send the rest of the money so I could get the birds. What she was doing was finding a Congo African Grey or two to ship to me. I have had the pair for about 9 or 10 months and they absolutely HATE each other. She never sent me any paperwork on the birds, I don't know how old they are, nothing and she promised me over and over she would send me the paperwork. All I know is that this pair of Greys do nothing but fight, the little time the female comes out of the nesting box, the male attacks her and chases her back into the nest box, which I had to pay Melissa for the nest box also. Also, I had to have both birds re-DNA'd to find out whether or not I had a male and a female.
If you, the moderators, want to let her continue to scam people, I'm sure there will be many more complaints about her and personally, I will have no more to do with your site.

That's too bad that you were taken. Unfortunately, it seems to happen a lot with birds, more so than other "pet" animals.

I do have a couple questions for you. If the male and female hate each so much and do nothing but fight, have you separated them? If they were not a bonded or proven pair, then could the female have actually been a rehomed pet thrown in with a breeder male? If so, she must be pretty miserable.

Even if she's not a pet vs a breeder, she's surely not getting enough food and water under these circumstances. Please separate them to protect her.

Thanks, Bev You're a sweetie to say so, but regulars on the 'tiel forum heartily disagree. Protecting birds seems to rank much lower in their priorities than protecting the people who endanger them. I'll be keeping my distance except when a bird seems in imminent danger, as this poor grey surely must be. But it's always nice to see you I had the pleasure of spending a July Sunday with Susan Friedman and others of like mind ... and heart. I learned a lot and smiled a lot

BE, there are some people who think they know it all and there are some people who ask but really don't want help. You have to pick your battles. As long as you do what's right, that's all that matters. I too am always on the bird's side.
