youbetcha, I suppose you don't worry about soy products being harmful (which they shouldn't be if fully cooked), the high content of peanuts, the high amount of sugars, artificial food dyes (which have shown to cause problems), and the fact that pellets are "dead" food (i.e. enzymes). Not to mention that corn is said to be one of the grains with the least amount of nutrition (however, I don't know how that compares to birds) and is used as one of the main ingredients.

However, seeds also bring their own nutrients to the diet. With that in mind, my birds get seeds, pellets, and fresh foods. One in particular gets Roudybush Maintenance which has corn, soy, and salt. Other things I don't necessarily care about... as well as the synthetic vitamins which are not processed as well by the body as natural vitamins.
With that info, can you really say that pellets are the best? Better than "live" food? I'm not a nutritionist, but it makes sense to me to use live food over dead... I also realise that not everyone can provide a diet high in fresh foods like others.
