Mealy Amazon

Hi I have a mealy that I have re homed a few months ago it is very sweet can be loud at time not often though. I took mealy to the vet for a check and his nails cut while I was there we did a dna test which showed that he was a she. I have a few questions I hope some one could help me with. John (mealy) is not untamed we can stroke her and fuss her on her terms ( dont blame her) she live in our kitchen she is out from 730 am until 6 pm. she forages around for things we hide for her we love her to bits. John has taken to my son very well and she will let him pet her head and she regurgitates food for him. I have been offered a male mealy who is also quite tame my mealy is about 7 (i do not no much more about her ) the male is 4. I am wondering is this going to be a wise move? I am not a novice at breeding and keeping birds so I know a few bits and bobs. The thing is I do not have amazon experience. I know my mealy can be loud now and again but it is bearable. I am thinking of keeping them together in the house but if they were compatible I would then move them to an aviary eventually. How old are amazons when they reach maturity? how many chicks do they have? do they double clutch? I am only asking these questions so I can understand what I would be letting myself in for. Thanks karen

A friend of mine has been successful w/ a pair of mealies, and there are rules about
    the larger amazons in general:
The tamer they are, the noisier they are.
A pair does not belong in a house.
Except for one instance of a tame breeding female,
breeding amazons are very protective of their nests and mates,
    and cannot be handled.

Hi I have got the new mealy and he is lovely. They are getting on well at the moment they are in my kitchen but as soon as I have a aviary ready they will be going outside. I was afraid the female would not be very happy with her new pal but she has let him on top of her stand and she has let him preen her. they are in separate cages at night but they are out all day. The male came from a home where he was with a galah and a couple of quakers, he is used to birds she had been a one family bird for 7 years so I am shocked how she has accepted another bird in her new space.
