If this chick has pink eyes, it simply means that the baby is a Lutino. If neither of the parents is Lutino, dad is carrying the gene, and, genetically, the baby must be a female. In Tiels, Lutino is sex linked and to produce a male, the female must be a Lutino and the male must either be Lutino or carry the gene for it. Females cannot carry this gene. If they don't show it, it isn't there.

The baby should be able to see just fine.
