: My Quaker parrot has started losing its feathers.
: It seems to pull them out on its back
: what can I do to prevent this
: Why does the bird do this.

First thing I would do is take my Quaker parrot to my avian vet and rule out medical causes for plucking. Infections can cause plucking. Poor diet can be another cause. An all seed diet is not a healthy diet. Birds should get some seed, pellets, and fresh veggies.
