My canary is favoring one foot which appears slightly swollen and slightly reddened. He is also picking at the foot occassionally. The foot appears to be most swollen at the ankle joint. I cannot see any bleeding, weeping or any visible cuts. Is this possibly serious enough to warrant a vet visit or should I wait a day or two to see if the swelling subsides?
